Often cited as the world's only 7 star hotel, Dubai's Burj al Arab is something of a legend in the luxury travel market, and it has been for quite some time.
Situated on its own private island and distinctively shaped like a rocket, the Burj (as its more commonly known) is part of the Jumeirah Hotel Group and acts like a beacon just off Jumeirah Beach seeming to guard the area with its authoritative charm. It was completed in 1999 after a near five year building project.
The hotel boasts private beach, indoor and outdoor pools, extravagant restaurants, stylish gymnasium, multiple water sports options and a host of facilities for younger guests like the Sinbad Kids Club.
Usually parked outside the hotel are a range of luxury chauffeur driven cars waiting for the call to collect the latest esteemed guests from the airport and through the doors to be greeted by the ‘leaping fish' fountain and those unmistakable purple and gold deluxe suites.
