Mrs. Aailyah Kibaki— Grand mom to Nicholas was so used to missing playing with her grandson that now she can't believe the reality of going to the park with him. Not long ago this was an impossible event to take place in her life.
She remembers a small pain that began in her hips 6 years ago virtually made her bed ridden. It started as a simple pain and continued to grow making her life full of suffering and painful. She could not walk, stand properly or even have a sound sleep.
She was referred to orthopedic surgeon to Medical Center in Mombasa, who after examining told her husband to Mr. Kibaki that she is suffering from osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis occurs when cartilage on the end of bone begins wearing away, causing pain and stiffness. When the cartilage wears away completely, the bones rub directly against each other causing decreased mobility and chronic pain.
