It may not apply to the rest of the world, but the term "camping holidays" in the UK and Europe covers a multitude of different camping environments from the bog standard tents, luxury tents which have both kitchens and bathrooms, to Yurts, and from static caravans, cottage type cabins, log cabins to luxury mobile homes, all of which can offer bewildering differences of sizes, qualities and fittings. They all come under the heading of camping holidays.
Now we've got that straight, I would like to point out both the subtle and not so subtle differences that apply when holidaymakers come to choose between booking with a British owned tour company operating in France, and their French counterpart. You could be amazed, but let me say that we have stayed with both in the past and have been perfectly happy, but there are differences you should know about.
Well obviously this holiday involves crossing the British Channel, and most Brit tour operators include the Dover/Calais crossing in the cost of their holidays. The French of course, do not.
Probably the next thing you should be aware of when you rent a mobile home from a French company is that you have to leave a whopping cash deposit of roughly €130. This covers breakages, but more than anything it covers cleaning out the mobile after you leave. They expect you to pig it out before you leave or you will be charged - a lot.
