Dar es Salaam, or Dar as it is referred to in casual conversation, is the economic capital of Tanzania, on the east coast of Africa. It used to be the political capital too, but its coastal location made it impractical. Dodoma was given that position in 1996.
Dar es Salaam is known as the Swahili coast's Haven of Peace. There African, Arabic and Asian influences thrive at best, and tolerantly coexist at the very least around the hotel in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Looking at the city from the water, you will be struck by the contrast between the narrow beach lined with trees and the skyscrapers in the background. Those buildings immediately denote a large commercial centre, but the coastal atmosphere lends a laidback feel to a hotel in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. There's a mix of old and new at the waterfront too, where traditional dhows are moored next to modern hydrofoils.
